Train & Bus Route from Kanjizaiji to Ryukoji
You can travel from Temple 40, Kanjizaiji, to Temple 41, Ryukoji by bus and train.
Walking this section takes approximately 50 km and around three days, making it one of the longer sections of the Shikoku Pilgrimage. By public transportation, however, you can reach the area around Ryukoji in approximately 2 hours for ¥1,800.
On this route, first take an Uwajima Bus from Kanjizaiji to Uwajima. From Uwajima, there are two options: take a bus to Michi-no-Eki Mima or take the JR Yodo Line to Iyo-Miyanoshita Station.

Public Transport vs. Walking Route
The distance from Kanjizaiji to Ryukoji is approximately 50 km, making this a long section that takes around three days on foot. The route also includes the Kashiwasaka Pass, which reaches an elevation of around 500 m, so the physical demands come not only from the distance but also from crossing the mountains.
By public transportation, you can travel approximately 42 km by bus from Kanjizaiji to Uwajima. From Uwajima, there are two options: take a bus toward Michi-no-Eki Mima or take the JR Yodo Line to Iyo-Miyanoshita Station.
Using Uwajima as a Stopover
One option is to travel to Uwajima by public transportation, stay overnight there, and continue to Ryukoji the following day.
Uwajima has plenty of accommodation and restaurants, making it a convenient place to break up this long journey into shorter sections.
