Train & Bus Route from Butsumokuji to Meisekiji

Comparing the Public Transportation and Walking Routes

The distance from Temple 42, Butsumokuji, to Temple 43, Meisekiji is approximately 11 km and takes about 3 hours 40 minutes on foot, making this a relatively long section.

Taking the Train & Bus

There are two ways to travel toward Uwajima from Butsumokuji: take the bus from Mima Roadside Station, or walk to Muden Station and take the train.

When using the bus, you need to walk approximately 3.2 km to Mima Roadside Station. When using the train, you need to walk approximately 4 km to Muden Station. From Uwajima Station, take the JR Yosan Line to Unomachi Station, then walk approximately 2.3 km from Unomachi Station to Meisekiji.

Using public transportation significantly reduces the amount of walking compared with walking the entire way. It is a convenient option if you want to reduce the amount of walking or lessen the physical strain on your feet.

However, the route is a detour because you need to travel back toward Uwajima, and there may also be waiting time for transfers. If the connections do not work well with your plans, the total arrival time may not be much different from walking.

Walking to Meisekiji

The walking route is approximately 11 km and takes about 3 hours 40 minutes.

One advantage is that you can walk directly from Butsumokuji to Meisekiji without worrying about transfers or waiting for public transportation.

If you have plenty of energy and the waiting time for buses or trains is long, walking all the way is also a good option.

Which Route Is Recommended?

If you want to reduce the amount of walking, taking the train and bus is recommended.

Public transportation requires traveling back toward Uwajima, so it does not necessarily save a significant amount of time. However, it can greatly reduce the approximately 11 km of walking, making it a good option if you want to reduce the physical strain on your feet.
