Which Route Should You Choose?

For this section, the easiest way to choose is to base your decision on whether the bus schedule works for you.

  • Bus schedule works → Bus
  • Bus schedule doesn’t work / frequency is more important → Train
  • Want to enjoy the walking pilgrimage → Walk

The bus is particularly convenient because it costs only ¥200 and takes you close to Nagaoji. If the bus schedule does not work, the JR Kotoku Line gives you more flexibility.

Think of it this way: bus for convenience, train for frequency, and walking for enjoying the pilgrimage trail.
