On Day 24 of the winter Shikoku pilgrimage, walk through Hiwata Pass and visit Daihoji (Temple 44) and Iwayaji (Temple 45). Discover snowy mountain trails, the challenging Haccho-zaka climb, and an overnight stay at Furuiwayaso.

On Day 23 of my Shikoku Pilgrimage, I walked from Unomachi through Ozu and Uchiko, visited Toyagahashi, and camped in Ose. Freezing temperatures forced me to resume walking at 3 a.m.

My first winter pilgrimage in Shikoku begins in Uwajima. I walk 24 km from Uwajima to Ryukoji, Butsumokuji, and Meisekiji, and experience a heartwarming omotenashi along the way.
