On Day 9, I visited Hotsumisaki-ji and Shinsho-ji from Cape Muroto, completing my first section of the Shikoku Pilgrimage.

On Day 8 of my walking pilgrimage, I walked about 40 km from Shishikui in Tokushima Prefecture to Cape Muroto, passing through Toyo and Sakihama in Kochi Prefecture. Along the way, I crossed the prefectural border, stocked up on food in Sakihama, and visited Mikurodo Cave, a place associated with Kobo Daishi Kukai. I also spent the night outdoors at Cape Muroto.

On Day 7 of my walking pilgrimage, I walked about 35 km from Temple No. 23, Yakuo-ji, the last temple in Tokushima Prefecture, to Shishikui. Following the coastal route through Hiwasa and Mugi, I also visited Shikoku Bekkaku Temple No. 4, Saba Daishi, before continuing on to Shishikui Onsen despite the pain in my feet. This is the story of a day spent preparing for the long journey toward Cape Muroto that would begin the following day.
